The new Points Based System commenced on 29 February 2008 with the introduction in the UK of Tier 1 - General Highly Skilled. This replaced HSMP in the UK.

Recent changes to the Tier 1 General visa mean that you must have at least a UK-equivalent Masters degree level education in order to qualify for a new Tier 1 General Visa. This does not impact upon those currently holding HSMP or Tier 1 General Visas.

If you are outside the UK and require assistance with your application then it is vital that you only use a UK-based Company registered with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) in the UK. The Tier 1 HSMP Visa is a point based system of skilled immigration to the UK. You qualify for points in areas such as your education, recent earnings and your age. At present the pass mark for a successful UK HSMP Visa application is 75 points.
